Yeah I really LOVE his tone and style. Classic!

Here's another good one. starts at 4:50. He really puts so much energy into it.

    THAT's the real Tchavolo!

Are you saying he has a credible tone here? (I sheepishly send out this pun to the wolv... I mean the discerning public.)

@Wim Glenn - glad you appreciate the pun B)

Put that video together with too much time on Sunday using MIDI.

From the great Latcho Drom film, still stands out as real gypsy music, fun and full of soul and energy and nobody is trying to out-arpeggiate anyone else. One thing I did wonder though, is how they managed to play the first two minutes in the crypt. It is very small with a low ceiling and always hundreds of candles burning and consequently not much oxygen. I don't know what is the record for staying down there without suffocating, but two minutes was enough for me!

Who's the player with the Di Mauro sitting between Tchavolo and Hono in the café?

And does anyone agree with me that Dorado is an even better violinist than guitar player?

I think that he is Gerta Weiss but I am not 100% sure.
I kind of agree, Dorado is not the guitarist I prefer to listen to but I love his melodies whatever the instrument he plays (and his melodic sense is the wonderful gift he gave to his sons)

Wow, what a great education! Samson has turned into a fine player, and you can see why.
