Best for live Recording

I wonder what recording equipment is best for live ad-hoc recording (with video)?
Patrus53, like one below, captures the sound from what appears to be unmiked guitars, extremely well.
Any recommendations to achieve this:

I've been using a Zoom Q2N with good results but the field of view is quite wide.

I used a Zoom H2 on the front and rear setting to record a band setup and that worked really well.
