I hope to make it there some day. The time I saw Venuti live in 1967 was a highlight of my musical life.

PS In 2016, this mural honoring Eddie and many of the jazz greats he played with was put up on a wall at Seventh St and Fitzwater…

I enjoyed this post 4 years ago when you first put it up, and I enjoyed going back through it again today. That was great that you had a chance to meet Eddie's nephews and get the grand tour. Considering the memory of him was fading fast with the greatest generation in the mid-90s, I'm sure Tom and Eddie appreciated your keen interest in their relative.
Btw, I did do that Google sleuthing you mentioned in 2018. Looks like we just lost Eddie in August, and he was preceded by his brother at some time. Let's imagine that he did get to see this moving tribute.
