How do you like it so far? Does it play and sound as nice as it looks?

Since we're a bit off-topic, I may as well mention that this beauty is still for sale (as played by Joscho):

    t_joscho_150.jpg

$700 takes it, case and all, along with some top secret dvd surprises...
(Though no Django in June or Samois '06 yet-I don't know what's up with the Canada/US mail...I suspect our border guards are having the time of their lives!

    Best,
    Jack.

It plays and sounds great. I play it through a Polytone Mini Brute and I get that "Joe Pass Jazz" sound. I also do some Django style on it. I have more pictures and Rumley has a Web site. Thanks , Gary

    Gary,

Is this guitar currently on ebay? Can you tell me more about the playability of this guitar and why you are selling it so soon? Would you consider a buy it now price?

I'm shortly to start sitting in with a swing combo. They play music for swing dancers: big band, New Orleans style, gypsy jazz, what have you.

What brand guitar would be good for this music? A Dell'Arte acoustic/electric?

Only five years late to this thread...just stumbled onto a picture of Amercian Vietnam-war-era soldiers playing the "Selmercaster" that is mentioned up the thread, and had to come here and see if anyone had discussed them. I found six photos featuring these things in the hands of both American and Vietnamese soldiers. Photos collected here:
