Monoprice 5-watt tube amp! Basically a budget champ at $99. Honestly, I get compliments every time I use it... more so than my princeton reverb. Something about how it breaks up at just the right volumes. Pretty aggressive sound and not for everyone, but for late django overdriven bad-assity, it can be pretty convincing. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=611705
I love my Fender Champion 600. Swapped out the speaker for an Eminence Patriot 6.5". 5 watts and a volume knob. Love it with my Guzz, but also my Gibson Archtops and especially Telecaster. Great cranked and dirty for small or quieter medium sized gigs.
I don't think they make them any more, but easy and very cheap to find used. Also, there is a Gretsch model that is exactly the same, but I can't remember the name of it...
I second that. I love my Vintage 47 RIC Supreme. It came with tubes that gave it a rather dirty sound, and I wanted something cleaner as an alternative David sent me a lengthy dissertation on tubes and ended by recommending a set. I ordered some and they were perfect. Now I can dial in the sound I want with a simple tube swap.
Vintage 47 amps are very affordable and way cool.
