Can anyone explain what Bireli is doing from 0:55-1:03? I've been trying to decipher what goes through his mind when he plays that but couldn't come up with anything.
I hear this:
first part : A half-whole diminished, (or think A7b9#11)
second part, [ from 0'.59"] : B, or B pentatonic then B7:
leading to the E7 chord [ at 1':03" ]
Ha yeah love it when he gets outside like that. No clue what he is thinking. Above my pay grade. b9, 6th, b5, b7. There is a B triad in there at 1:01 that gives A 6th, b5, 9th.
I can't figure out how to get that harmonic at the beginning. Anyone know??

Again it is diminished
I can show you when we hang
The B triad as is the scale thing afterwards is basically a A Lydian (major with a flat 5).
Yeah i’m Hoping I sound smart but I have no idea what i’m doing. In seriousness take a major scale and raise the 4th a half step and that is that sound. So that A major with a raised 4th over the A chord works but may take a while for your brain to process that sound or maybe not.The B triad he is playing exists inside that scale where it did not before you raised the 4th.

"What's that you're saying?" I'm sorry, I only speak English - I don't understand a word you wrote... LOL
