Convex? Why convex? I'd like to hear about this idea of yours. I was thinking about removing a treble side mustache piece and making a well matched wedge type shim that could adjust the height as needed.
But I noticed that nothing replaces well humidified arched top. If the top loses humidity to the point of shrinking a bit and losing some of its height, no action adjusting puts it back to the sweet spot.
Re Convex wedge: It just slightly convex, so that only the section under the bridge foot makes contact with the top. The wedge tapers to as thin as I could make it (copier paper thickness), so I am able to make very fine adjustments if needed- I’m not “jacking up the bridge on a collapsed top”. I do have a second “winter bridge” but now I never use it.
