A visit to the Ischell website reveals a model specifically designed for internal installation, the Inside J48C, with the electronics mounted in the endpin jack. Presumably this would come with some sort of recommendations for mounting, although I can't find anything on the site.
It seems to me that the point of the putty is the repeatability of the constant installation and removal. Surely for a permanent fixing some sort of rubber washer or donut, or a corn plaster, or a ring cut from a mouse pad might be a more elegant solution. This could be superglued to the mic, and then glue or a ring of double-sided tape could be used to fix it to the guitar. Whatever works for K&K type pickups would surely be fine.
No progress yet Will. Way to keep me on the ball though, Haha. I’ve been swamped with gigs and recording on top of the rest of what I do. It doesn’t help that my local luthier is getting busy with building so it’s harder to get with him. I’ll update the thread once I find the time to get this worked on.
