Has anyone heard the most recent Hurlak CD?

Yes. It's excellent. On Bucarest Blues, the predominant sound the band draws on is that of Eastern European folk. On the new one, that influence is still there, but there are also some more Spanish sounds. Accordionist Christian Toucas sits in on several songs, and there's a female vocalist named Norig on a few. Thierry Vaillot's guitar playing is top-notch throughout and the tunes are all fun and well-written. It's not "gypsy jazz" as we've come to know it...more like "gypsy + jazz."
