New CD: Brandi Shearer & the Robin Nolan Trio

I just got the new Brandi Shearer with the Robin Nolan Trio CD. Great stuff! I love it. If you like Norah Jones you'll probably enjoy Brandi Shearer's vocals - Brandi delivers with a similar smokiness to her voice but has a more substantial, huskier sound (and she sings in French on two songs). The Robin Nolan Trio provides outstanding gypsy jazz style backing for all of the songs and mandolin master David Grisman sits in eloquently on the first and last cuts. It was just released on Amoeba Music but it was hard to find. The links for purchase aren't yet active on their website (http://rendezvousatthenightery.com) but I was able to get a copy from their outlet service ameobablowout on ebay - got here in two days!

Cool. Hope you like it Charlie. I've been in love with Brandi Schearer since seeing the live video of her with Robin at DjangoFest West (of course Robin and John Jorgenson are no slouches either!). Her live version of Sao Miguel is even better than the studio version.
