Dupont VR & Mazaud selmer copy#503

This was the best video I ever found of the dupont flagship guitar,With km184 microphone and a good audio interface that shows the guitar sound well.

Video : Dupont vr(indian rosewood back and side)

That was the sound I had been looking for a long time

How much better is the VRB sound than this VR ?Or maybe each has its own tone...?

Also is there anyone here who has tried the "mazaud selmer#503 copy" ?

My VRB sounds quite similar but of course we are different players (enjoyed the clip btw). I like my VRB because the woods look spectacular but sonically they seem very close.

@Mehran s For a new guitar with a traditional Selmer tone I’ve always found the two best choices are Jean Barault and the Dupont VRB. There were actually numerous Selmer designs/sounds and Barault is closer to the pre-war Selmers like Django’s #503. It’s a darker, rounder, more midrangey sound and not quite as loud. The Dupont VRB is similar to post-war Selmers that have a bigger pliage with a brighter, louder tone.

The VRB has a more complex and rich tone compared to the VR. The Brazilian rosewood adds characteristic complexity and a smooth, rounded quality to the trebles. The VR sounds somewhat "simpler" by comparison.

I don't know any answers but the video link you posted is an amazing tone in my opinion. Love it.

Martin Gioani (Guitare Improvisation) in the video, sounding great as usual.
