how do you take the stock one off of the tailpiece?
Wow man, this is a great idea! I'm drooling over 8, 9, 10 but they're all awesome.
how do you take the stock one off of the tailpiece?
I just checked on an old one of mine and it just slots in.
So it shouldn't be too complicated, assuming tailpieces are fairly standard in size.
I think #2 would be a great complement to a rosewood guitar that has that lighter shade running down the middle of the back.
Thanks! That is easy, first you should remove a part of leather (it is usually glued on superglue to the back side of insert), than I take square piece of wood\plexiglass etc, rest in on the edge from sting side and knock it very lightly with mallet. Usually it moves really smooth.
Thank you!
That is good idea. I have also some sap rosewood pieces, so that could look almost identical.
I got a couple of the inserts and have just fitted them.

Looks even better once it's on the guitar.
Definitely bumps guitars look up a notch!, Bill was it hard to pop off the old insert? Do you just use some kind of glue to put on the new one?
In both cases the old one slid out without any real effort on my part - they were very lightly glued.
With the new inserts I put a tiny dab of superglue to attach to the leather, but I'm not even sure this is necessary - they have slots on the side, slide in and seem to fit snugly. Tailpieces are Dupont and Altamira.
@Bill Da Costa Williams Is that an Altamira with the F holes? How do you like it? Is it loud enough in jams?
