Update: I forgot to enable "anyone can comment" option. Fixed.
Hey all,
I am researching the tunes included in Django Fakebook 2008. I was about ten tunes into the effort, and I began to realize that the composers and dates listed in DFB 2008 are not the same ones suggested by many online sources.
Below, I've linked to a spreadsheet (public commenting enabled). If anyone has the time and desire to contribute to this in any way, I would very much appreciate it. I will continue working on it in the coming days.
Otherwise, if anyone knows of some reliable resources (preferably without paywalls) for determining song authorship, that would be a big help.

(Update: Found date for Alembert's as 1955; source: Michael Dregni)
Anyone know the composition year for Alors?...voila!
If it's the Tchavolo release that's 2000 I think? But I guess he was playing that for some years before Romane managed to get it recorded
Thanks, Wim.
Here's the next one I'm having trouble with. What's the year of composition for Bei dir war immer so schön? (Composed by Emil Stern, according to Django Fakebook 2008)
Update:
FYI, here are the sources I've been using to fill out the spreadsheet:

The Djypsy Djazz Djam Book also has detailed background info. on the the 224 transcriptions therein.
I bought it some years ago at http://www.musickit.com/
Hi,
according to the YouTube clip sung by Margot Hielscher (in the Movie) the tune "Bei dir war immer so schön" is from the play "Anita und der Teufel" (Anita and the Devil) from 1938 composed by Theo Mackeben/ Lyrics by Hans Fritz Beckmann. It is also the name of a German Movie about a Composer from 1954.
There is a wonderfull soundcheck Version on YouTube starting on the second half of the head played by Antoine and Sebastian Boyer!

This link verifies the info above given by @Djangheureux. Note, the title is "Bei dir war es immer so schön"...es is the "it" in "It was always so nice with you"
