My short answer would be no, not on a laminate body GJ guitar. I have owned a few Brazilian guitars and a few other woods. I could not tell any difference that I would attribute to the Brazilian rosewood vs Indian or Ziricote

@Twang I too sometimes salivate over figured BR but don't think I'd wanna actually own one. Then again, given the chance who knows. Sometimes I go to AJLs website to see what he's got in store ready to build. Just saw this one today and it was actually in "slightly figured" category haha

That's very strange that they would disfigure animals with thinking that then they wouldn't be the target of poachers. But that tells me how bad it it.

The back of that guitar looks like some spooky ghoul eyes!

That is a wild piece of wood! @Buco I think the horn grows back like fingernails.

For laminated backs and sides, I believe that the only audible difference in using Brazilian rosewood for the outer layer (of three layers plus two layers of adhesives), might be due to the slightly heavier result -- since it's denser than most other woods. For such a precious wood, I don't think it's right to use it for looks.

Weight makes a big difference in the attack and decay of notes.
