Pioneer Jazz Guitar Duet Sheet Music

edited September 2020 in Welcome Posts: 3

Hello,

I've been searching all over the net for four sheet music pieces, and have thus far not been able to find them. I was hoping maybe someone on these forums have them or know where to find them. I know they are out there somewhere.

  1. John Cali and Tony Guttuso - Violetta
  2. John Cali and Tony Guttuso - A Study in Brown
  3. Carl Kress and Dick Mcdonough - Heat Wave
  4. Eddie Lang - Rainbow Dreams
  5. Any Eddie Lang/Lonnie Johnson or Eddie Lang/Carl Kress duets
  6. Frank Victor/Harry Volpe duets not included in “Masters of Plectrum Guitar”

Any information would be highly appreciated!!

I started working on a transcription of an Eddie Lang Carl Kress arrangement a long time ago. No guarantees of accuracy and I don't think I completely finished it but if you want it I can dig it out and email it to you.

That would be appreciated. I am also curious about Marty Grosz, as there appears to be zero material of sheet music online for any of his work , “Acoustic Heat”. Perhaps emailing the copyright owners would be a good path to take for that, I suppose.

Speaking of Marty Grosz, I just got a copy of his new book and recommend it... what a card... check it out...

Speaking of rare swing artifacts, I'll add this one to the wishlist. A good bag of tricks for anyone who is serious about jazz guitar:

I'm of the opinion that everything George M. Smith touches is gold, so this one:

This one is probably the least likely to be found.

I wrote a letter to Marty Grosz once asking him about his tuning. He wrote me a nice letter back and said to stick with standard tuning. :=)
