hello, im thinkinh of buying altamira m01d or m30d, my question is, does laminated back and sides on the m01d affect the color of the sound?, i know laminate is probably louder, but i want a traditional sound of a guitar, i mean sa close as possible to selmer, should i go for m01d or m30d? money isnt a problem here

Selmers had laminated backs and sides so there you go.
Well...if money isn't a problem, there is always this... 😜
@deda0009 As mentioned above, laminate back and sides are the norm for Gypsy guitars so there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, in most cases it's preferable. However, the Asian made instruments are built from much lower quality laminate (usually something very cheap like poplar in the middle layer instead of mahogany) which results in a much harsher tone. So for the Asian made instruments, many people opt for solid wood back and sides as the tone is much warmer and fuller.
Thanks,
Michael
so you think m30d would be more autentic sound?

I wouldn't say solid woods are necessarily more or less authentic than laminate, it's just that the solid woods have a fuller, warmer tone which ends up sounding more like the higher quality laminate you find on the handmade guitars.
thank you very much, one more question, do you think laminate is louder than solid or the difference is to small to be taken into question?
No, they are the same volume although the laminate tends to be brighter so sometimes it cuts a little more than the fuller sounding solid woods. No one has ever complained about volume on an Altamira of any kind, they are all super loud!
very good info thank you so much
