BYO recommended fret wire?

Any recommendations for fret size for my (dad's) build?

It'll have (roughly!) the neck profile of the F. Charle 807 plan.

(Also, any leads for a source for the wire?)

I like 'medium' width and 'high' (taller) crown. The 'high' gives you more to play with for dressing frets/longevity. But it's really just about personal preference.

Any opinions on Jescar EVO gold 55090 (same dimensions as the Dunlop 6105)?

Must admit - I think the Gold colour would 'go' really nicely with the other appointments on the guitar..

Good thinking, I'll go for it next time I'm replacing frets. For me though, it's jumbo all the way. The wider the better. I believe it helps with the tone. Guitar tech and another luthier I know agree with that. Of course there are others that say frets can't make a difference.

Fret wire is highly personal, the Dunlop 6105 is a perfect sized wire IMO......, the EVO would be great. If you play a lot you will wear out regular fret wire and be refretting in a few years. The EVO is supposed to prolong the life of the fret due to its hardness.
