Recently got a Godin 5th Ave and removed the pickguard as it kinda gets in the way.

Any easy things that can be done to fix the screw hole ?

I usually put a small gold screw in the hole. Or else a bit of a similar coloured wood filler with a dab of French polish over it.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I would just put the screws back in the holes so you don't loose them. That way if you change your mind or sell the guitar, you can just put the guard back on.

The original screws don't go all the way into the holes, so I'm afraid they'll catch on something eventually and rip out.
