    Thanks for that man. One of the greatest things I've ever experienced in this music was to go see Alfonso Ponticelli as part of the 2013 (I think) Chicago Jazz Fest. Titi Bamberger was guesting. The most generous guy - gestured for me to join the "player's booth" up front at the Green Mill, which I sheepishly did, and hung with him over some glasses of bourbon. Can't remember who but someone told him I loved rhythm for itself, and he lit up a bit. (Not that he heard my playing, lol). Wonderful to hear him on stage with Alfonso, watch him play, just hang with the guy all night.

    Yeah, I love rhythm. I've no pretensions of even getting really good at it anymore, but if I can crunch and swing, giving a good background spine to the players, I'm good.
