Here's the rhythm track people can use to solo over. I added the file to the opening post as well. I started it on the turn-around so it's easy to come in. So just record using this track and I'll add it to the final song. The tempo is 140bpm. Best I can figure is let's split the chorus into 16 then 10 bars.

Seems initial enthusiasm has been curbed, don't see a lot of traffic here besides myself and Willie so pretty soon I'll have to start name tagging people and troll them on the forum lol. C'mon let's do this!

Buco, I'm totally down to solo over half a form, but can you remind me how to record my solo & add it to the project? I'm happy to do it, but I'm a luddite when it comes to technology.

Easiest way is to use one device, a phone or tablet or similar to listen to the track over headphones and a second device with the camera to record. Then upload somewhere, Google drive or Photos or Dropbox or...and send me the link.

Would you wanna be one of the guitars that play the intro melody?

Sure. I can do it on my archtop or one of my Altamiras, your call.

You mentioned you'd like to use your archtop, go for it. You can use both, one for the melody, another for solo.

Perfect. I'll use my M-01D for the melody & the archtop for the solo. I'll work on it on Sunday. Thanks for your good work on this.

I'll split a solo with someone.

Buco, I seem to remember someone suggesting I double the head with them?? If they want to record it I'll play over it.

Edit, I found the post. Paps was saying for me to play the head out and he could do clarinet fills behind that so I'll try to record that soon. It will just be on the iPhone since my kids recording stuff is still buried after the move.

Great @Bones ! Just use the rhythm track above. Either take first 16 bars or latter 10. First come, first served so your choice.

Yeah that was one of the clarinet guys, forget now if Andy or Piere suggested it.

Could you also record the opening melody the way I have in the rough sketch recording? Sync with the existing melody as best as possible. The recordings to use are all in the opening post, even if posted throughout the thread as I was getting it done.

Here is a vocal demo. Besides the plops I am quite sure this is the way. But I think there should be more "acting" the emotion, which is difficult to record, because I was very very close to the mic, with low voice and low energy, almost with my speaking voice. I could give more open throat, more loudness, more voice - but more "singing" might be less intimate. And I will not scat on this tune, because I'm afraid I can't scat in a melancholical way. I tend to experimenting with a hummed solo ...
