Steffo, you made my day. I love this version of Django's Castle. What a treasure you found. Rene Thomas is one of my favorite jazz guitarists and I've never seen this footage before. He's quite underrated in my view, I seem to remember he died at a relatively young age. His album The Italian Sessions with Chet Baker is a favorite cd of mine & I go to it time & time again for joy and inspiration. Any fan of classic hard bop, with the added element of extraordinary guitar, should check it out. Thanks so much for adding this footage to the discussion.

Finally I was able to find the Barney Wilen version of this tune
when i play it unaccompanied (in D) i like to play Bm or Bm Bbm before the Am as a subtle change.
