So I was looking at the wikipedia entry for the actress, Fairuza Balk, who some might recognize from Almost Famous, The Waterboy, and others.
I was surprised to read this little section of her bio:
In 2011, Balk began to exhibit art in Los Angeles and New York. On August 4, 2012, she participated in the group show 'MiXTAPE', with other notable artists .... Artists were asked to pick a song and create art inspired by that song. Balk chose the song "Nuages" by Django Reinhardt and created a 16"x20"x12" mixed-media sculpture.
I found a picture of her artwork and it is below. I don't know that a rusty walkman and can headphones speak "Django" to me, but hey, that is art. It moves people in different ways. I just found it neat to see that Django continues to inspire people beyond our small world of GJ musicians and aficionados.

Wow. The lives we rarely knew. I recall her as the American Nazi psycho-girlfriend in American History X.

That movie so disturbed me that I chose not to mention it. The scene where Edward Norton makes the guy put his mouth on the curb creeps me out to this day.
Yep, a great film but god what a tough film to deal with. After that murder - in the full light of the cop floods, swastika on his chest, standing in an absolute perfection of hate....damn, Well done, but good god.
On to more pleasant stuff - Nuages and her art. Way to go, Fairuza! Thanks for the thread, billy.
