@Buco - good call, my bad. It's one of the "Art Nouveau Serie" color options in the materials section. I didn't buy any picks in "blue ocean" or "red fire" but I would guess they sound exactly the same as the "safari" color.

ETA: also, regarding the dimple, that's why I like Jokko's Manouche model so much, great shape and he'll make it without a dimple but still with the holes, which can help as "guides" when I'm making subtle changes to the attack angle depending on what kind of lick/phrase I'm playing - like many others, I started off using Wegans and it took me years of trying out picks from various manufacturers until I realized the dimples/indents were actually a hinderance in certain ways to my technique. This is also why I like the 2mm gators so much, obviously no holes but that "powdered" texture feels really nice in how it helps maintain picking angles, at least for me.

I got 4G in art nouveau-safari (I thought it looked neat in the picture).

It is indeed a cool looking material, even better in person!

Come to think of it, Killy N pick that I have does the same thing; three usable tips. Oh well...

On the subject of picks. I am now using the primetone smooth 1.5mm on its side like a dunlop gator or delrin. I really like it has the projection of a wegen but the feel of a dunlop. great for rhythm and lead and they are cheap! disclaimer I am not a pro by any means. https://www.jimdunlop.com/primetone-standard-smooth-pick-1-5mm/

The primetone is nice, really does live up to it's name and was the first Dunlop pick I tried using for GJ many years ago after playing primarily on wegans when I first started. Main reason I switched to gators was the powdered feel that gives it more tackiness...that said, might have to try out the "standard grip" version in 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm primetones that I didn't know existed: https://www.jimdunlop.com/primetone-standard-grip-pick-3-0mm/

Unlike the OG primetones, looks like the standard grip version is textured and that might make me a convert if it plays well too.

I have tried those and they are a completely different material. You may like them but for me the tone does not compare with the standard.

The ones that look like blue chip knockoff, I love those.

Looky looky what arrived...feels great in hand, will put it through its paces soon. Postcard (two of them) is a nice touch.
