That's like twice in a week we are able to give props to Pigalle 44. Great band all around!
Here's some very nice lines from Tim Robinson.
Nice- Tim is such a tasteful player!
@MikeK I'll talk about the 4ths tuning at some stage in another thread, so as not to derail this one.
For Danube, I think Django played it once like the AAB and once like the AABB which is always a source of great confusion whenever this tune gets called in a jam. I prefer the form AAB, and I also prefer not to repeat that 251 to C major in the bridge, instead going to E7 Am directly like was mentioned already.
This tune also has the best back track on youtube, so it's a fun one to practice on!

For what its worth, I dont think Charlie Chaplin had anything to do with "stealing" this tune -- Saul Chaplin perhaps but not Charlie.
Here's one of my favorite takes on this tune by Dave Biller's band, in a very traditional style. Recorded in Austin back in 2001, this is from a CD is called "Leroy Swing" and every cut is as good as this one. Dave's one of the best all around guitarists anywhere, though I don't think he plays this style anymore.
Nice Scot. Tasty clarinet as well.
Another great discovery from @scot for me. Amazing player, he may not play gypsy jazz but there are some relatively recent videos of him playing acoustic swing. Really great, thanks Scot.
