Django in June Music Camp ~ June 13-19

Django in June is New England’s premier occasion to celebrate, study and just plain enjoy the musical tradition associated with the inimitable Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt. That tradition is now known by many names: Gypsy jazz, hot (or Hot Club) jazz, Gypsy swing, jazz gitan… Whatever you call it, it offers one of the most ebullient, accessible and unique jazz styles on the planet.

Our flagship offering is Django Camp, which gives musicians the opportunity to immerse themselves in Gypsy jazz under the tutelage of world-class artists from both sides of the Atlantic. Django Camp is held on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, MA, where participants eat, sleep, study and “djam” to their heart’s content. Locals and visitors can get in on the act by attending our grand finale of weekend concerts at the historic Academy of Music as well as other, smaller offerings around town.
