Great to listen to people's recordings here. The banjo was spot on.
I've just recorded this slow version of Troublant Bolero. The guitar is my refinished Gitane 255 which is well suited to this sort of playing. Bass is my EKO fretless acoustic.
Putting old things in order, among other recordings this one from 1997 fell into my hands, the photograph is from the internet. Not Gypsy Jazz at all: part of a typical 90s bavarian dialect project.
Yes, been singing since I was ten - what was a long time ago. I'm the guy bottom right on the pic.The recording is one of two a capella tracks I had written for Elmar Raida's project with swing and blues tunes with bavarian dialect lyrics, most of the program was for 4 voices, piano and double bass.

here's a short live recording from my current project, "Chardon Bleu":
This is amazing
Yeah, the tone of that Gitane 255 is dreamy, wow! Lovely recording.
Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."
Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."

Very catchy melody.
Thank you!
Bravo Willie! That is wild stuff man! Are you singing as well as composing/arranging?
Here is a quick clip of on of our latest - this toward the end of the show.
And the full gig:
I hope you all get a little smile out of it!
Cheers,
