This guitar was built in Vietnam in the 1960s and heavily influenced by the French who colonized Vietnam for many years. This item is reminiscent of the basic guitars built in France in the 40s, 50s and 60s like Henri Miller and Patenotte. The tone is certainly very similar.
Than Rhuc guitar.
The guitar is in pretty darn good shape for a 60 year old guitar. Basic construction guitar, seems ideal for La Pompe.
Sound is both bright and bassy
Pretty loud and under 3 pounds!
No body cracks or loose braces but superficial flaws.
Tuners turn smoothly.
No dead frets, neck pretty straight
New Strings
The sound hole rosette is flush with the top, many of these old guitars would warp around the sound hole.
Action is very reasonable, 2 mm at the 12th fret for this type of instrument
How about that fender like headstock!
Many of the guitars built in France had extremely fat uncomfortable necks. This neck is more middle of the road not so 2x4 like.
Ornate tailpiece

Same provenance. Look at the hole in the headstock. Might even be the one..
