Stella by Starlight
Fly me to the moon
The most astronomical jazz standard there ever was: fly me to the Moon.
I don't really associate it to gypsy jazz, but you sure could play it in that style
Sorry Stuology, didn't see your post! You beat me to it!
My gypsy jazz trio plays Fly Me To The Moon and people really seem to enjoy it. We do it as a bossa.
Well if we are talking bossas, I suppose we could included the Getz/Gilberto classic "Corcovado" written by Jobim, which has the parenthetical title of (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)!
Polka dots and moonbeams (Rocky Gresset)
Moonray (Koen de Cauter, Fapy Lafertin)
What a little moonlight can do (Sara Lazarus with Bireli Lagrene)
Meanwhile, down on earth (Hot Club Of Norvege)
Venus as a boy (just because it was mentioned on the forum recently)
Ok, here we are near the end of the month. Here are my original 13, followed by the forum's entries:
Stardust
I Saw Stars
The Stars Fell On Alabama
It's Only A Paper Moon
