I'm a Deadhead, at least I have been and still go see Phil Lesh and various incarnations of the Dead. There was always something very Django inspired about Jerry's playing (maybe not immediately obvious).

I've seen Jerry quite a bit (I'm getting up there in age) and this has been very common to some of us. I remember someone I know early on making sure that I didn't do the Jerry thing during descending chromatic passages which sort of really tied the room together for me. I knew exactly what he meant.

The NJ guy from the famous VT band also claims Django as an influence. I hear that for sure.

It is nice to see other people acknowledge their roots. It's pretty open in bluegrass as Jerry has a direct connection to the music. I don't see too many heads in GJ, but really got along with the ones I know. Thanks for sharing.
