This month's trivia question is: how many tunes can you name that were recorded by both Django & Oscar Aleman? I came up with 15. I'll get things started with 3 obvious ones, feel free to add others that you know, without repeats. At the end of the month, I'll post my 15, as well as any that the forum comes up with that I didn't think of. Have fun with it & happy holidays:
Stardust
Sweet Sue
Jeepers Creepers

I've got my Greg Ruby Oscar Aleman Songbook that I've been working on the tune Scartunas from. From that book, there are at least 2 tunes Django played:
Sweet Georgia Brown
Daphne
Nice, Billy. I'll toss out 3 more from my list & see if anyone else is interested in joining in (I'm a big Oscar Aleman fan. I find his music & story fascinating, especially as it intertwines with Django's music & story):
Limehouse Blues
Blue Skies
Viper's Dream
--that makes 8, there are 7 more that I'm aware of.
Happy New Year, forum members. Here are the 15 songs I came up with that were recorded by both Django & Oscar Aleman:
Stardust
I Got Rhythm
Tea For Two
Sweet Sue
Daphne
Begin The Beguine
Jeepers Creepers
Blue Skies
Sweet Georgia Brown
Caravan
Whispering
Limehouse Blues
Honeysuckle Rose
Lady Be Good
Viper's Dream
It could be the subject for another thread, but I've often wondered about the influence each of these mystical trendsetters may have had on the other.
