I did an apprenticeship in restoring double basses in NYC 1999-2001. Then got pulled away from instruments for a long while. I started back again in 2017 and I've had my own shop in Portland, ME for a year and a half. I studied guitar making with Sergei Dejonge in Quebec. I'm working with a mix of traditional techniques and CNC.

That was crazy. Pretty much my fav guitar of all time is the blond D'Aquisto that John Monteleone finished after D'Aquisto died. The Blue one is pretty close to that. I have a Selmerish guitar idea with the asthetics of that "Montaquisto". The Monteleone guitar was amazing too. There was also a D'angelico there and I got to play Ken Parker's guitar. Totallly nuts really. I wish I'd had more time in there.
Thanks for the nice thoughts about the Dimauro! I am a bit surprised it hasn't sold either. It's a pretty sweet little guitar. Headstock repair is doing great and I assume it will continue to do so. There aren't many french guitars for that price.
And it sounds good, particularly if you're a genius:

Nice. I like the headstock repair you did in the pic at the bottom right of your instagram page!
@Rip That is this guitar! :-) It is nice work and great that he could save this guitar.
@paulmcevoy75 I like the pic of you with the Chinery blue guitars! Must have been a treat to play them.
I'm kinda surprised no one has picked this one up yet. Looks (and sounds from the video) like an awesome guitar.
