Dude, you keep stirring controversies around here.

But you know, production quality aside, it's kinda odd that these important videos are published on some obscure channel without much of a description other than Stephane's name and a date. Plus there's a glitch in the audio recording and it goes from a completely compressed, thin sound to louder and much more open, and back and forth like that.

But anyway, I just watched the one with Parfume and Naguine. It completely changed my view on Naguine piece. It fits perfectly in a 12 bar blues and Stepane played through it with the backing track he recorded and it's amazing, the difference in perspective.

Yeah, I highly doubt Stepane is limited in any way to play any of these at Django's tempo. I'm pretty sure I heard him say somewhere that he decided to slow some of them down because he thought they flow better that way. And also that Django may have been somewhat forced to up the tempo so they can fit on a record.

I think the channel might have been created as a space for musicians to make cash during lockdown, but I'm not sure.

That Naguine thing was really cool!

It's interesting about the recording limit possibly forcing Django to speed things up. Hey, wait Bucu, are you promoting controversy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm just a messenger, how do you say...to the best of my knowledge? I think he mentioned the recording limitations thing in one of these videos. As to why he slowed some of it down, I was there when he said that but not sure where. I've been to several of his classes, workshops, live shows etc.

I would have never guessed that to be the case and find that very interesting. Thanks for sharing that.

Meant to write that I was there when he said he decided to slow some of them down because he felt they have a nicer flow like that.

Right on. I saw a youtube interview where he says the same thing. It is really nice to hear his interpretations.
