Chasing Djangos 1947 Radio Recordings Electric Tone (Jr. Barnyard + Gabojo Kleio 47)

DoubleWhiskyDoubleWhisky Upper FranconiaNew Vit Cach, Dupont MD60, 1940s Castelluccia

Hello dear fellow Djangophiles,

today I inaugurated the newly refurbished tiny basement room, which has been converted into a low budget home recording studio, and took the opportunity to test out my new Jr. Barnyard pedal. I know there are already threads about this pedal on here (which also encouraged me to buy it), but I don't think there are any sound samples yet of how it sounds played through a tube amp, so I thought I would put a little contribution here:

The complete gear I used: Gabojo Kleio 47 Stimer style pickup into a Nocturne Jr. Barnyard octal tube flavour preamp pedal into a Peavey Classic 30 head through a selfmade cab with 12 inch AlNiCo speaker. Recorded with a SM57 front and a Beyerdynamic M201TG in the back of the amp. The guitar is a 2020 Dupont MD 60, the rhythm is also recorded with that guitar.

Yeah, really good tone. But so it was when you posted that one time just playing straight into the amp. That's without directly comparing, I just remember how I liked what I heard coming from the amp. I'm sure there's a difference. And it's a fun endeavor.
