I think there have been lots of rather good luthiers around who built those guitars we love, not only the few "big names", but many others who copied them or added their own original works to the market.
One of @Buco's comments on the discussion of the origin of my flea market find guitar was: "It would be fun knowing the brand and model but most importantly it looks cool plus sounds and plays great." Looking forward to your restauration!

It's European, because the fret marker is at the 10th fret.
Body shape, headstock and neck construction look a lot like di mauro chorus models, but the postion of the f-holes is totally different.
Di Mauro E models have similar f-hole position but with different design.
Busato archtops have a different body shape.
Castelluccia have different body shape.
Maybe Favino 2a? Similar tuners application but different neck construction.
Where did you find this very cool looking instrument? I hope it can be saved, it looks amazing even in it's presented state!
@Willie
Thanks for all the photos. I was thinking Favino too.
I had a Di Mauro Chorus with the same flower tuners once too.
I will try to fix it for sure.
Very good relic job! 😁
When I had introduced my Mystery guitar to this forum, kind of a detective story started - with no clear results. https://www.djangobooks.com/gallery/gypsy-mystery/

@Dominik I just found your 2010 thread: https://www.djangobooks.com/forum/discussion/8391/
Did you get further information about that guitar? Do you still play it?
@Willie
I don't have that guitar anymore... 😔
This guitar looks really good actually. Aside from the screws at the heel. How's the neck? The rest of it looks like it just needs a good spitshine.
I think Willie is right, Dominik’s new guitar is a Favino.
A great find, despite the screws in the back of the neck joint 😏
Thanks guys!
It will be a while before I can get to it but It will play again!
