Here's the latest interview by Rick Beato. The whole interview is pretty entertaining and George has lived a full life. I've cued it up to near the end, where he mentions Django among one of the best and how he doesn't think anyone could be better.

Something similar was mentioned in this article I came across the other day. I didn't know George Benson is such an admirer of Django, kinda cool. Plan to watch this interview eventually.
I believe GB knew Babik. When he headlined Samois a few years ago he talked about Django and his family between songs.
