Gypsy jazz hangouts

I'm thinking about moving to Europe this late summer and fall to live for 4 to 5 months. I'd like to live in an area with a thriving active gypsy guitar community, to play and learn and maybe gig.

Any suggestions on good places to live?

In 2017, we stayed in the Marais district in April, for a week. There were gypsy jazz bands playing on the sidewalk. Then the same year in July, same. Don't have any more info beyond recommending your French be as polished as possible.

Your trip sounds like potential magic to me!

Also, the Marais is expensive. I'm not sure that's necessarily the best place to network.
