Eddie Peabody was the Vega banjo company’s best sales “influencer” until Pete Seeger came along and saved the company by bringing in lots of orders for those long-necked five string models.

One of my banjos is a Vegavox IV much like the banjos that Eddie used to play… lots of gold plating and a flashy art deco design… it was made in 1970, so it’s not super valuable but it is a lovely instrument

    PS,

Thanks, Michael, for sharing the clip of John. So that was an Irish bouzouki that he was playing? I didn’t know that!

Paul Cezanne: "I could paint for a thousand years without stopping and I would still feel as though I knew nothing."

Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."

Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."
