erm well we've also been repairing guitars for a few hundred years and also repairmen have been shaking their heads when people bring in instruments with gigantic cracks for about the same amount of time.
Also if you want to play a Yamaha or some other somewhat heavily built acoustic guitar that probably doesn't sound that good next a campfire, you're probably ok. They are made with a major interest in getting shipped across oceans to their destination and arriving in one piece vs sounding good (not that yamahas sound bad but most mass market guitars are overbuilt on purpose).
If you want an instrument that sounds amazing it's very likely going to take more care and thoughtfulness than an imported mass market guitar.
