Marco Parodi was born in Turin in 1963, he approached the jazz "infected" from the passion of the father and begins therefore the study of the guitar from self-taught, at the age of 10 years.
From the end of 80's he dedicated himself to the study of the music of Django Reinhardt and the manouche style, and after a long search to build the band, in 1994 he formed the DJANGOLOGY quintet with the fiddler Marco Sodano, characterized from the presence of only stringed instruments, in the typical pre-war Hotclub style. The band was active until 2000.
In 2001 ATELIER DE SWING, with the accordeonist Luca Zanetti, guitarist Lorenzo Marino and bass player Francesco Bertone, drawing inspiration from the "Note Manouche" quartet and apllying the manouche style to a
repertoire of various origins.
In 2002, from the encounter with guitarist Marc Masselin and fiddler Diego Deiana, the Hot Club Quintet of Turin was born, also this composed exclusively by stringed instruments. They played in various concerts and important festival: "Vincoli Sonori" festival, Klezmer and Gypsy music festival, Django Reinhardt festival in Turin, and the jazz festival of Giaveno (TO), opening Regina Carter's concert.
During the yars, Marco played in Italy, France, Germany and Japan with various musicians like Massimo Manzi, Lello Molinari, Felice Reggio, Carlo Sola, Franco Cerri, Romano Mussolini, Dick Mazzanti, Gianni Negro, Larry Nocella, Fabrizio Bosso, Giorgio Rosciglione, Marco Pellacani, Emanuele Cisi, Giorgio Li Calzi, Maurizio Carugno, Tal Farlow, Tanaka Takehisa, Tony Green, Gianni Basso, Giorgio Conte, Matcho Winterstein.
