I too love the playing of Rodolphe Raffalli. I only have his "Gypsy Swing Guitare" CD and really enjoy his melodic approach. His sound takes me back to some old French or Italian movie and that's not just because he plays a wonderful rendition of "Amacord" from Fellini's film; there's a timeless quality to his playing. On this CD he also uses a nylon string for a few songs...which has some shades of Ralph Towner.
I'm looking forward to getting his "Brassens" CD at this year's DFNW.
You'll love the Brassens CD as much as the other, I predict. And I totally agree with you about the version of Amacord that he plays. Really beautiful stuff.
After reading another post from Michael recommending Rodolphe Raffalli
I had to snoop around this great community and see what others thought.
So glad you all posted here, I must say this is soooo tasteful.
Many Thanks to those who know this Music & History and share here.
