Tears trouble

Hi Michael!
I`m enjoying "Unaccompanied Django" a lot, but I`m confused about the fingering for the first bar of your "Tears" transcription.
It says to play the C bass with the index, hold it for two beats, but then to play the Eb in the second string with the same finger on the second beat.
The same with the Eb bass with the middle finger then the G C with the same finger. It just seems imposible. Am I missing something?
I`ve figured out a way to play it but I`d like to know how you play it.
Thank you.
P.S Any news on the release date for "Gypsy Rhythm"?

That's how Django played it....it gives you the staccato feel in the bass. it's not too hard once you get used to it.

Gypsy Rhythm is basically done... I have only 2 examples left to record on the CD and the graphic designer will put it all together!

Exactly...just listen to Django's recording. It's all staccato.

The fingering of that bass note also struck me as impossible, but I'll give it another go when start working on "Tears" again.

Forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed before, but what version of Tears should one listen to for this transcription? It is not on the "In Solitaire" CD is it?

I forget which year right now...if you look in the Transcription Notes section of the book it has the date.

The version of "Tears" in the book was recorded the 21 of April of 1937 in Paris under the number OLA 1705-1.
You can find it on the "Intègrale Django Reinhardt Vol. 5"
