JJ Jumping Ship ?

BohemianBohemian State of Jefferson✭✭✭✭
Paris Swing's new mandolins are John Jorgensen models.

Paris Swing is a product of Musiclink.. a competetor to SAGA and I believe started by former SAGA employees.

I cannot imagine that SAGA would allow a concurrent competetive
endorsement deal. and no non compete agreement ?

I also know that Musiclink is working with **** of Dell Arte on the Pigalle modles.. also a former SAGA association...

So has JJ jumped ship??
I know that the Paris Swing Guitars ( selmac copies) are soon to hit the states....are these going to be JJ models ? ? ?

And considering Greg Rich is (and Scott Zimmerman may be ) invloved in this project.. watch out SAGA

Paris Swing guitars have hit the streets... they're just not called Paris Swing... they're called Dell Arte. **** signed an agreement several months back to market offshore manufactured versions of several of his designs in conjuction with Musiclink - beyond the Pigalle... I'm not sure what's happening to the Kinnard shop guitars or how one would go about getting one vs. the other. At the tradeshow they had a display for the luthier-made guitars... and 5 paces to the right was a display for the factory made guitars... The only model I didn't see on the factory-made display was their DiMauro (F-Hole) model.

Whew... look at this?!? JJ on a Paris Swing Mando with Robin & Brandi & Simon !?! The plot thickens!! They're not just making a JJ Mando, they're positioning it as a Gypsy Jazz instrument. There is no mention of Bluegrass in their promotional material. Good eyes, dude. This is an interesting development.

You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.

No to be too cranky, but I wish these people would be more descriptive than merely stating it has a 'solid spruce top'. I mean, even the Esteban has a solid spruce top. BTW, for some great chuckles, go to the Harmony Central site and check out the reviews there for the Esteban.

According to info I got from a phone call to Musiclink.. the first Cola units that were sent to NAAM had finish problems but they decided to send them anyway... these were what they called "pre production" models

When the finishes are straightened out they will be on the market.. according to them OCT NOV...

A couple folks have posted they got the Paris Swing mandos.. reviews are spotty

One dealer who wished to remain anonymous said the D hole is OK the Oval was a dog... he also sells Eastmans which remain numero uno in the import mandos

Those Paris Swing mandos aren;t black or white straight or the opther side... not twilight not sunrise.. and to market them as Gypsy JAzz instruments is a strech

In my opinion a fashion disaster.. like 2 designers with a different portion of the instrument .. and no conversation..
    weird.

Musiclink also intimated there would be a Pigalle and a Paris Swing..
one for A. Cola ,one for them ?

    Wait and see

But JJ is really the news in this new deal. Bye Bye SAGA hello Paris Swing.

So who will be the new SAGA endorsee ????? Esteban ? : )
