Looking for a Valerian Valse backing track

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a good backing track for Valerian Valse. Such a beautiful tune, and I'd love to practice improvising over it. I’ve searched around but haven’t been able to find any backing tracks for it. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Can you record something yourself using your phone? That's what I do if I can't find it.

    Hello Magnus,

I agree with you. Valerian Valse is a great tune. That's why I included it in my book: Gypsy Jazz and Musette Waltzes, Vol. 1.

As for backing tracks, if you have a decent microphone and a DAW, it's easy to make your own backing track. I have a Blue Snowball microphone (USB), and since I use Arch Linux most of the time, my DAW of choice is Ardour. I record the backing track myself in this way, and using the click track is advantageous for your musicianship.

However, a lot of folks use macOS, and as such, Logic is a good choice as well.

I've been meaning to go back and search for this old thread on the same song. Maybe OP has already found it, but there were some good links on it.
