I haven't had time to try it enough, but it sounds exactly like Django when he was playing with magnetic pickup.

The amp has two inputs, each with a different sound and separate volume controls, and one tone control. If you use one channel with the volume turned up and turn up the other channel volume, you get a very distinctive sound.

Unfortunately there's been a strange noise in the amplifier since yesterday. I have to send it back to Paris, have it checked, and I'll get it back when it's completely fine again. I'll let you know soon how the amplifier sounds with the pickup.

I'd think a good local tech could help you instead of shipping it to Paris. Did you try anything to isolate the issue? Could be something simple, bad tube or a ground loop.
