My home country is Romania and I have never herd of German players like Joscho Stephan and players from Netherlands such as Stochelo Rosenberg, but never of a Romanian player, I suppose it's not as big as everywhere else.
So, are there any big Romanian GJ players?
Comments
One that comes to mind is Florin Niculescu
Accordionist Ionica Minune whose real name Ene Gheorghe born in Costesti, Buzau County Romania in 1959. One of the world's greatest accordionists. He is on Romane's 2020 great cd "Alors.....Voila" His whole family played different instruments and had a Taraf(band) and performed in their village!
Correction: Romane's cd year 2000
Costel Nitescu. Rares Morarescu. Marius Apostol. With Florin, all violin players.
Going back the other way - you can often hear some Romanian influences in Sebastien Giniaux's playing, and I think I remember hearing that he took some inspiration from guitarist Nicusor Tiuleanu. Look up this guy if you haven't before, he's quite remarkable
@wim you reminded me, this is coming from Seb himself
