Here is the link to the museum's website. It doesn't have the update yet: https://www.kcpstrings.com/

Wow, very cool story and 708 does indeed look like it's in time capsule condition

I'll pay them $100 for it.

Whoa, that's amazing news. Can't wait to hear more about this. And some music made with it.

Would love to to hear it, same batch as Django’s #704 which he used on the Rome sessions.

That's what I was thinking about too. I didn't know what Django's Rome sessions serial number was, but I know he played a guitar in low 700s. Which is where this possibility that he played #708 ties in.

While it might be neat to have that inspiring instrument there, I imagine the ~$40k it would bring would provide a lot of operating capital for a non-profit. Otherwise, if they have recording studio capabilities, it would be cool to invite some of the better players to play and record on the guitar in Hawai'i (similar to the Selmer505 or 607 projects). Maybe even make some Django-themed aloha shirts? But it is a long way to go from Europe. Thankfully, they have a strong music tradition in the islands.

Let's just hope no one gets it in mind to flip the script and convert this to a Hawaiian model. 😂
