New guitar from Paul Mcevoy!

bbwood_98bbwood_98 Brooklyn, NyProdigy Vladimir music! Les Effes. . Its the best!

New guitar! Recently took delivery of a great new guitar - from @paulmcevoy75 . . . Paul is a great luthier, and more importantly a super nice guy as well. He's very direct and up front about everything - and yet patient enough for all my nonsense questions and whatever. The guitar is the blue one! (and oh, boy is it blue!). Suits me very well in terms of sound - I always look for good volume, powerful round bass, and punchy mids, with a touch of sparkle in the high end. Super happy with the guitar. Below are some pics and quick vid. (Hopefully I'm playing ok lol!)

Congrats on the new guitar! I’ve never played one of Paul’s guitars, but from the videos it seems like they have such an even response on all strings all over the neck. Loud and punchy - it sounds great!

I really enjoyed getting to try this one when he brought it to Rochester last year. Totally agree, fantastic guitar, and super nice guy!

Thanks Ben! I'm really glad Ben got this guitar, he played it when I brought to NYC like 2 years ago or something.

As you might know I'm pretty hard on myself guitar making wise but I just wanted to say one time: I told Ben this guitar is very lightly built, too lighly built and I am not sure it will have a long and fruitful life. Ben was cool with me telling him that like 15x. And if it explodes he gets the cost discounted off a new guitar.

So if the top looks warped in the future, I'm working on finding the perfect balance of lightness with adequate strength and the ratio on this one was a little bit...over.

That said it sounds killer, particularly when Ben plays it. And the wood is beautiful and the action is really nice. I really enjoyed having it around since I made it. I feel really happy that it's out in the world and that Ben's enjoying it. There's definitely a thing I'm noticing where it's not just selling guitars but selling the right guitar to the right person.

Hope you all get a chance to play it sometime. I'm working on some really nice shit for DIJ, I'm pretty excited about it.
