I'm sure many of you in this forum have had the distinct pleasure of dealing with the imposter who calls himself King Tico Rosenberg (no relation to the genuine article). From what I have garnered, his real name is Alfredo, and he's Venezuelan or Cuban, and lives in South Florida.
He has attempted to troll me in the past, and just recently attempted to do so again (on Facebook). However, and perhaps it is the doctor in me wanting to see that he gets the much needed psychiatric help he so urgently needs, rather than attempt to engage with him about music (no point in doing that, when he tells me he is better than everyone else - even going as far to say he's better than Bireli, Angelo, Stocholo, George Benson with 10 Grammys, and that he "teaches" Yamadu Costa and Matteo Mancuso), it's best to understand his pertinent psychiatric diagnosis from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition: DSM-5:
Key Aspects of Grandiose Delusional Disorder (DSM-5-TR)
- Definition: A subtype of Delusional Disorder (DSM-5-TR) where the central theme is a conviction of great talent, insight, or power.
- Duration: Delusions must persist for 1 month or longer.
- Functioning: Apart from the delusion, behavior is not obviously bizarre or odd, and daily functioning is not severely impaired.
- Differential Diagnosis: Unlike schizophrenia, delusions in this disorder are not accompanied by other prominent psychotic symptoms (like severe auditory hallucinations or disorganized thought).
- Features: Individuals may believe they have a special relationship with a prominent figure or are actually that figure.
This diagnosis fits him quite well, so if you do happen to interface with him again (and I don't know when that will be since I drove him off of Facebook again by confronting him and offering him an inpatient psychiatric referral), just send him my way. I have psychiatrist colleagues in the south Florida area that would be able to help him out.
Sure, it's easy to laugh at him, and dismiss his patently absurd and inane comments, but I guess I really want to help people who are clearly afflicted, such as he is.
