You are cordially invited!

Adriel Azure and his Dream Indigo Orchestra perform nostalgia music of the 1900-1940s. This includes hot jazz, gypsy jazz, swing, tango, latin, klezmer and more. This is an all acoustic group harkening back to a time when melody and dance were what it was all about.

We will only be performing tango at this event. Hope to see you there!
So it's not Djazz but, if you like Oscar Aleman you'll like this too. After all he played tango too ya know! ;)

TANGO BATTLE OF THE BANDS
On November 2, will be performing in a Tango Battle of the Bands at the second annual Tango de los Muertos Halloween Tango Festival. Each band will play 4 songs, with dj'd sets in between bands. This is a milonga (tango social dance) -- come on out and dance, listen to music, and vote for your favorite band! In order to vote, you must arrive by 10 pm and stay until 11:45 (last band plays at 11:30). Costumes are encouraged.
Whether it's the dark glasses of Carlos Di Sarli's followers in the Golden Age in Argentina, the punk-cabaret look of modern day Dresden Dolls fans, showing your true colors as a metalhead or in a zoot suit, it's all welcome here. This is, after all, the first ever Battle of the Tango Bands - a definite occasion for celebration! Show your support of the new tango music movement!

The Battle of the Bands Milonga will be held in Lobdell Hall in the Stratton Student Center.

The Beginning workshop preceding the milonga will be held in Lobby 10, which is in the building with the huge columns just across Massachusetts Avenue from the Stratton Student Center. It's not the lobby that you arrive in when you first enter off Mass Ave, but if you walk straight through that lobby and keep walking down the long hall for a minute or so, then you'll arrive in Lobby 10.

Limited street parking is available on Massachusetts and Vassar. There are also some Pay garages.

Public Transportation The nearest T stop is Central Square on the Red line. To get to the Student Center from Central Square, walk South on Massachusetts Avenue for about 10-15 minutes. When you get to Vassar Street, you're at MIT. On the right side of the street just ahead you'll see a low 1970s building - that's the Student Center. You'll know it's the correct building if you see a big, beautiful old building with 2-story high columns just across the street.
