Photo Question 1

Below is a photo of Django which usually has a caption indicating it was taken at Bal Tabarin in 1944/45. Despite this date, there appears to be a lead running from the guitar and an amplifier on the chair in front of Django. But where is the pick-up? Under his hand by the bridge? Or is it some clever avant-garde microphone attachment? If the guitar is amplified then the photo cannot be from before 1947.

Has anyone seen any other information about this photo? There is another one taken at the same gig.

    Dear Mr. Dupont,

Well there are a lot of other photos taken on that occasion but the quality is trully bad as I got them on a photocopy of a Django's transcription book (the one with pèche à la mouche etc...).

The photos are signed by Alain Chevrier and the photos indicate hat Django had the Stimer ST48 and the photos should belong to J.P. Guiter who helped CHAPTAL MUSIC to publish in 1980 that little interesting book.
